Not so sure about CD 2- By: Dr D, 02 Oct 2008 A 2 CD set of 33 tracks. CD 1 is callled the Singles Collection & it does exactly what it says on the tin. Brilliant stuff! What I would describe as beaty, catchy, semi-acoustic songs with a great 60's feel to them. Jacqueline & Put the Sun Back were particular favs but there isn't a weak song here at alll. This CD will stay in the car a long time. The second CD is callled Mysteries & Rarities. A more mixed bag in terms of musical styles. Diehard fans will probably love it but I found some tracks making me want to hit the skip button pretty quickly. This may be unfair - I've only listened to CD 2 a few times - & perhaps they'll grow on me with time. I do hope so. What An Album- By: MD, 29 Sep 2008 I remember always liking the Coral but in a hectic year with the birth of my son i hadnt bought Roots & Echoes. As things are not as hectic now i went out & purchased The Singles Collection & realised what a great band the Coral are & probably the better tracks came from Roots & Echoes [which ive also purchased]. This is going straight on my ipod as this is one of the best albums ive ever heard.Skellywags- By: Coincidence Vs Fate, 27 Sep 2008 I first got into the Coral at the time of their debut "Shadows Falll" EP mainly due to a buzz on different message boards. They were also similar in style (at that time) to the fantastic Shack.
This is a welcome resume from Skelly & Co & shows just what they're capable of; from the magical "Dreaming", the poptastic "In the Morning" & the new single "Being Somebody Else" which is a real return to form after a few disappointing releases of late.
The inclusion of the EP version of "Shadows Falll" is also a nice touch.
Once you listen to this album you'll begin to realise just how talented the band are.
