4 and a half stars - By: C. Morrell, 26 Oct 2008
I'm not sure why there isn't an option to give half stars on these reviews, but if it was possible I'd give this album four & a half. The half is deducted purely because it's just too long - I think most people would agree that 18 tracks is too many, whoever the artist. By removing four or five of the weaker tracks they could have created the perfect album. That said, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there isn't a single terrible song on here, just a few that I could have done without. If I was playing producer, I would have cut Out of this Club (my least favourite, but then I've never been a fan of R Kelly), Who's Gonna Love You, Lights, Camera, Action (again, because I can't stand New Kids on the Block) & Love the Way You Love Me. The rest is fantastic, much better than I expected & much, much better than their first album. Personal favourites are Whatcha Think About That, I Hate This Part, Halo, Magic & Elevator. One thing I would say is that if you're expecting a pop album you might be disappointed, as this is much more RnB & hip-hop than their previous material. But if you love heavy beats & want a fun, funky album to dance to, you should definitely give this a try.
This album is even better than PCD - By: C. Cox, 26 Oct 2008
Like i said in the title for my review, this album is even better than PCD,although they released fantasic singles from that album the rest of the album were covers. There were two tracks which were wicked on their first album though which were hot stuff(i want you back) & bite the dust.Right here is a review of each track from doll domination:
When i grow up-10/10 This a fab choice for the first single, but there are even hotter tracks than this song
Bottle pop-10/10 This song is insanly catchy a great song, love snoops rap,one of my favourite songs off the album
Whatcha think about that feat missy elliott-10/10 Great choice for the second single,a favourite of mine, watch out for missy singing near the bridge of the song
I hate this part-10/10 This is also the second single, the video is quite good look for it on youtube,a lovely balllad
Taking over the world-10/10 Another catchy song, nice to hear melody singing in the bridge with nicole their voices go well together, melody is a brillant singer
Out of this club feat r kelly & polow Da Don-7/10-I think this should be an uptempo song, instead it is a slow song, not one of my favourites
Who's gonna love you-10/10 I love this track lovely uptempo number, one of my favourites on the album
Happily never after-10/10 This lovely balllad was written & co-produced by no other than the sexy man himself ne-yo(the king of rnb),this song is another favourite of mine
Magic-10/10 I love this funky uptempo number written & co-produced by timbaland, another favourite of mine
Halo-10/10 Another great balllad from the girls
In person-6/10 An alright song, not a favourite of mine though
Elevator-10/10 I love this song, again melody gets to sing a lot of the song, another favourite of mine
Hush Hush-10/10 A lovely emotional balllad, another favourite of mine
Love the way you love me-10/10 A brillant uptempo number, love the bridge which melody sings, i feel her part in the song is the best part.Another favourite of mine
Whatchamacalllit-10/10 I love love this song another favourite of mine
I'm done-10/10 I love this song, a lovely balllad
Lights, camera, action feat new kids on the block- A great funky uptempo song
Perhaps,Perhaps,Perhaps-5/10 A cover,i don't like this song but it is rather catchy
I reallly like this album i just feel it is time to let the other dolls sing apart from melody & nicole, but you defo need this album in your collection, otherwise you will be missing out on a brillant album

Lovin this album! - By: katie, 21 Oct 2008
The second album from the pussycat dolls, doll domination, is, i think better than the first album PCD. The album is made even better with credible people such as missy elliot & snoop dog featuring on the tracks. It has a good mix of both upbeat & then more chilled songs throughout which means you cant get bored with it. My personal pet hate is an album filled full of cheesy sounding balllads but even the slower songs on this album have a more contemporary feel to them. Probably the worst track on the album is perhaps, perhaps, perhaps (a cover) they did a cover on their first album of baby love & i didnt like that either. It just sounds like something you would hear on a cruise. Apart from that the rest are good songs & the album is good money considering that is had eighteen tracks in alll. Enjoy!!
Very disappointing - By: Book worm, 09 Oct 2008
On hearing "When I grow up" I couldnt wait for their new CD to be released & even pre-ordered it, however on receiving the same I am very disappointed. The only track worth its PCD weight is track 1 & thats "When I Grow up". Wish I had just bought the single now
Pussycat Dolls make dance music!!! - By: R.Thorn, 04 Oct 2008
I'm sick of the reviews slating this for not being some orchestral masterpiece. The Pussycat Dolls make dance music!

There are so many great dance tracks on here along with a couple of powerful balllads. Yes, once again Nicole takes the spotlight but if the other girls were so unhappy about that they could follow in Carmit's footsteps!! If you get the deluxe addition you will hear a solo track by each of them (Kim's easily being the best- not saying much as the solo tracks, including Nicole's, are very weak but 'Lights, Camera, Action' is very decent)

I have counted a minimum of 8 tracks that I listen to regardless of the mood I'm in along with a few more if I am in the right mood.

My favourites include- 'When I grow Up' (this took a few listens & the live version is infinitely better!) 'I Hate This Part' (One of those slow type songs you always put in playlists because the melody is so strong & Nicole displays possibly her best vocals yet) 'Takin' All Over The World' is a hook-laden mid-tempo track that's perfect for listening to after one of the amazing balllads on here. 'Who's Gonna Love You' is mid-tempo again with mature lyrics & strong enough hooks to be a standout so is a regular in my playlists. 'Magic' isn't the strongest track melody-wise but there's something about it that keeps me listening, it's definitely a grower & that means I won't get bored of it easily.

Now, 'Halo' deserves a longer review. I am shocked by how many critics' reviews completely ignore this stunning track. The music is heavy in this but it suits the song & frankly it's one of the best songs I've heard in a while. Along with Rihanna's 'Umbrella' this has been on repeat for a while now! excellent theme, beat, chorus etc although the only annoying thing is the 'skipped' sound at the start. Whoever came up with that is an idiot!!

'Elevator' is a cleverly written song about improving a relationship & I like songs that put tired themes across in unique ways! This is another good song to listen to after a slow one. 'Hush, Hush' is the second knockout balllad on here with Nicole reallly hitting the high notes. This needs to be a single as I feel it will help give the Dolls a more mature audience & if Nicole performs it live as well as in the studio people will reallly sit up & take notice!

Now for the other decent tracks-

'Lights, Camera, Action' is on the deluxe version so technicallly there are 9 songs I will listen to!
'Happily Never After' is a decent balllad but not as strong as the others & I prefer upbeat tracks so this is in the when-in-the-mood-for-balllads section! 'In Person' is a great girl-anthem track but songs with a retro feel aren't reallly my taste (probably why I hated the majority of Christina's Back To Basics) but I know it's a good track (possibly a standout but my taste obviously makes me biased!) 'Love The Way You Love Me' has a decent melody but is mid-tempo & not-quite-strong enough to be a standout but it's certainly not a filler. 'Watchamacalllit' is upbeat & very danceable, it is catchy but the filler-style lyrics bring it down. I'm sure plenty of people would say it's a standout but I need great, unique lyrics as well as beats to make a lasting impression. 'I'm Done' is the only other track I'd calll decent but would need to be in the mood for.

My utter dislikes are-

Bottle Pop
Whatcha Think About That
Out Of This Club

'Bottle Pop' is too repetitive & the theme has been done better (even on the rest of the girls' own album!) nothing makes this track stand out.

'Watcha Think About That' is a little too poppy & well, 'blah' for want of a better word!! It might do well on American radio but the hooks are very weak.

'Out Of This Club' is very wishy-washy for me. It sounds a little '90s & again, nothing stands out about it.

So, only 3 rubbish songs (for me) 8-9 absolute standouts & 5 very good tracks make a fantastic album indeed! (and I would have bought it just for 'Halo' anyway!)

Please ignore the idiots criticising it for being 'manufactured/synthesised superficial pop music etc the Pussycat Dolls make dance music & they make it well!
