Great entertainment - By: TG, 22 Oct 2007
Good family film. Acting, actions scenes, special effects & characters are alll very well done. Might be considered scarey for younger children in places (my 3yo has never had a problem) but never gory. No real hint of any religious message which wouldn't bother me either way reallly.
This has remained watchable even after a fair few viewings.
In Love... - By: Frida Grönberg, 24 Dec 2006
Oh God,do I love this film or what?! Everything is just perfect, the acting, the brilliant story, and the visual effects. And no,I'm not just a fan of the movie who never touched one of the books.I read this book at the age of 7 or 8 maybe, and then continued with reading the other Chronicles of Narnia.Going deeper & deeper into a strong Harry Potter obsession,I sort of pushed Narnia aside for some years, but this movie brought me back to the magical land of Narnia once again.I haven't seen any of the other adaptaions of this classic (like the BBC one or the cartoon),but I dare say that this must be the best one ever.I'm totallly amazed with the actors, who played their parts extremely well.Everything is just like I imagined from reading the book for the first time, that day 6 years ago.
So what more can I say? I am in love, and have been for almost a year now. This is the best film I have ever seen, and I do reallly recommend it to any Narnia fan or fantasy freak.

A brilliant adaption of a brilliant book!! - By: DEC Normington, 25 Aug 2006
I was very excited when I first heard that they were making a movie of Narnia. Knowing that the movie was being made by Andrew Adamson (the creator of the Shrek movies) I knew that this movie had to be good! As soon as we could swing it, we went to see the movie at our local cinema...
Beating the Lord of the Rings on my mental list of favourite movies, Narnia is now my Number One! It was brilliant!

Finallly making up for the pathetic wooden thing used in the BBC Series, Aslan finallly comes to life as a very realistic-looking CGI beast. Even the pixels that represent eyeballls enable the viewer to feel his emotions!
The special effects were impressive. You can reallly believe in the fantastic creatures of Narnia & you might even mistake Mr Beaver for the real thing when you first see him.

The acting is also wonderful. Georgie Henley is so right for the role of Lucy - alll the Pevensie children are, in fact. And Ray Winstone reallly brings a sense of rough working-class cockney to the Beaver!

On a literal level, the LWW stays pretty faithful to the book. There are deviations, of course, but you cannot avoid that in film adaptations. The spirit of the story is still alive!

Do not judge this by its subtle Christian meanings - the Matrix was also said to have had religious alllegories! I must urge you as a long-time Narnia fan not to pass up this wonderful movie.
You'll be the only one who misses out!
