the GREATEST episodes of series 2 - By: S. J. Pinder, 15 Jul 2008
having found the christmas special & New Earth reasonably enjoyable,i decided that series 1 couldn't be beaten...i was totallly wrong...David Tennant is the greatest doctor of them alll, and he just kept improving throughout this series.
these are without a doubt the greatest episodes in series 2,and i even prefer these to the finale(Doomsday).
Tooth & Claw-a genuinly rewarding experience,Russel T.Davies has written a mini-horror film, and unlike the movies this werewolf is very scary & artistic to look at...i personallly feel that this is the best episode he wrote of series 2 as it combines the humour, stunts & scares needed in an episode of Doctor Who,and Rose isn't alll lovy dovy with the Doc in this episode(thank god!!!)but the chemistry is shown...some great scenes here too.
School Reunion-The return of Saah-Jane(who wont appear again until the series 4 finale!!!)which is a great treat for fans...and Anthony Stewart Head(Giles from BTVS) as the main villain of the episode adds to its charm...this is one of my favourite episodes of alll time...oh yeah K-9 also reappears, the clashes that Rose & Sarah have between one another is hilarious to watch.
The Girl In The Fireplace-another corker from Stephen Moffat who beats the feel of series 1's Empty Child/Doctor Dances(and doesn't make another whopper like this until series 4's stunning silence in the library/Forest of the Dead)the Clockwork robots are very creepy with their masks & the twisted plot adds to the charm that makes this a great experience.
unfortunately this leads to a dumbed down two parter with the cybermen, and from then on series 2 keeps twisting slowly downhill providing us with un-needed episodes...until Doomsday where it cranks everything back up again.
BUY BUY BUY!!!

"The Girl in the Fireplace" - By: aimforthestars, 05 Nov 2007
David Tennant does a great job of playing Doctor Who, & of the three episodes on this disc, it's 'The Girl in the Fireplace' episode that stands out as a classic, & it's worth getting it for this episode alone. Take an original idea, add a spaceship with some unique 'windows', some clockwork.. (wait & see) & set it in 18th century France, & you have a recipe for an excellent Doctor Who. The other episodes, Tooth & Claw & School Reunion are also very good & make this three episode set highly recommended for fans of the series.
Episodes 2-4 - By: dosn't matter who I am, 07 Aug 2007
First on this disc we have "Tooth And Claw", a brilliant episode with a frankly haunting transformation sequence, also quite funny. Second is "School Reunion", Sarah Jane Smith's back! Good acting from Anthony Head & a smashing storyline. And finallly "The Girl In The Fireplace", a masterpiece, the Doctor finds a time portal & fallls in love with the girl on the other end, bless! All in alll, a good selection of Doctor Who.
