Purely hedonistic filth - loved it.! - By: Wayne_Clapham, 27 Dec 2008
A bawdy romp through the sexual exploits of a group on twentysomethings. So much in this movie to make you stop & think. I recognised people i knew, in stories that i had been told. The interactions between the characters were moving. Real sex is every sense of the word, not glamour porno, normal looking people doing normal things people do together... 'could you just .... could you use your other hand only I normallly use my left hand......'. An occasionallly funny, sometimes sad, often sexy always enjoyable film. A must see.
Just a warning- the film contains straight & gay, no holds barred, down & dirty sex. The real thing so be aware before you watch & complain.....
a rounded view - By: D. Ware, 01 Dec 2008
Ok the reviews this film has, that say it is 'bad' are perhaps fair & just.
- but if you have read them & haven't guessed already then this film reallly does depend on YOU the viewer & your own experiences & MINDFRAME.
This film is one of those that CAN reallly work because it can connect to members of its audience on a level much more personal that say a stereotypical hollywood blockbuster (which are aimed at appealing to the masses) thus earning this the title "Art" film.
Despite my comment about large budget films, i can compare this to "Closer" (Nichols, 04).
I found that closer was a film i loved because i could reallly relate to it & the situations which engrossed me.
The same with this, you can put yourself in the shoes of the characters, at times & symapathise & feel & be overwhelmed as they are.
Yes the mention of rudity was an attraction when purchasing it, & when watching it can feel a bit fascinating & voyeuristic, but also evoke reactions equallly strong but negative (as an example in being a straight male, some of the homosexual content was awkward to watch) but that very reason fascinated me also, in studying myself & why it affected me.
To keep it simple, if you when reading this are the sort of person who enjoys films that are a bit different & thought provoking, esp with the category of relationships in mind, then this is definitely worthwhile.
Whereas, if you are actuallly looking for pornography, then buy an actual porn film, not one like this that uses sex & fetish & some milder 'out of the norm' action, to convey emotion, a mindframe, a different stage in life & relationships.
Yawningly pretentious, moi? - By: Bob, 16 Oct 2008
I bought this after reading alll the rave reviews on this very page and, feeling rather duped, I now feel it is my duty to be one of the few voices of sanity.
This is simply an arty-farty porn movie. A group of annoying characters with 'issues' talk a lot & indulge in hardcore sex.
"What's wrong with that?" one may ask, but there is an awful lot wrong with it. Unable to identify with, believe in, or even LIKE any of the characters, it was difficult to care about any of 'em.
"But what about the sex?" Another failing. I have no idea who this film is aimed at - too gay to appeal to a straight male & alll the women are utter mingers.
So we have no plot, awful characters, ugly sex & ZERO eroticism.
I have no problem with pornography per se, but everyone knows how bad a 'porno-with-plot' invariably is, & that is alll this boils down to in the end.
Muck, muck, muck...oh no wait it's a good film too! - By: R. Boden, 13 Oct 2008
So it begins with a man pleasuring himself into his own mouth - that pretty much sets the tone of the entire movie. It's a tale of love & relationships focussing mainly on sex. It pulls no punches & I found the characters alll to be pretty realistic. I wonder if it had been made without the explicit sex scenes, would it still be a good film?
