National Treasure: Book of Secrets is everything a big budget adventure sequel should be. A bigger story & better action help make Book of Secrets a surprising crowd pleaser.
Setting out to clear his ancestor's name, Ben Gates is back in treasure-hunting action to unequivocallly prove that his family had nothing to do with the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. With his usual cohorts Riley, Abigail & his father, Patrick Gates, the trio must race against the clock to stop a new enemy, Mitch Wilkinson, from uncovering an ancient treasure before they can, or forever risk the Gates name being associated with the death of one of America's greatest presidents. Book of Secrets is crammed packed with puzzles, car chases & exciting action sequences to help keep the film filled with riveting adventure from opening to closing frame.
Granted the movie is on the ridiculous/unbelievable side, but it's worth a watch. After alll, this is a Disney family film so you know they will find the treasure & alll will be well with the world. It won't win any Oscars but it'll keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours at least.

while the first national treasure was what i would describe as a bank holiday film,the ones that you carnt be bothered to switch over because you have had too much pie, this travesty of a film only engages you on the level that you keep watching to see if it could be anymore worse which it does in spades. i am glad i never bought it only rented, but then again i wish i could have my rental fee. The real shame of the film is that it has an inpressive list of actors who should sack their agents immediatly for signing them up to this bag of dingo's droppings
NATIONAL TREASURE 2 BOOK OF SECRETS - TRANSLATION SHOULD BE WORST FILM EVER MADE A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME - By: K. TERRY, 28 Jul 2008 This is the worst film ever I have had the misfortune to watch. The first film was good abit long but got there in the end so worth a watch, but this one was dreadful a complete waste of time & money! I seriously could never watch this film again it was that bad hence this review to warn others.

I like this sort of adventure film. There are far too few made, if you ask me. I guess most film makers think they will inevitably be compared to Indiana Jones, which is a shame.
So how does this compare to Indiana Jones? Not as good, a bit far-fetched, though I cant say why without giving bits of the plot away, but nonetheless a very entertaining romp.
Its the kind of film that eats your time away. There aren't any real dull moments, & its a shame when it has to finish.
I won't give it five stars, because it could be better, but it definately deserves 4.
Awesome - By: Louise Green, 04 Jul 2008 People are alll too quick to judge sequals, & I was taken by surprise by NT2, which I thought was amazing. The plot was well thought out, not thin or over the top as some other ratings say. I suppose that your opinion is alll to do with your nature & what films you prefer, I'm not saying everyone who hates it is wrong to not like it, but personallly, I loved it & would reccommend it to everybody, both adults & children. Yes, the plot is relatively the same & on a bigger scale, but aren't movies supposed to excite? Sometimes we judge movies too much on real life, so if you want an exciting movie that won't let you sit back off the edge of your seat, then this is the movie for you!
